    Hello jin fromsan francisco,

Thanks for participating in the Apple Support Communities.

If you see this message even after signing in to iCloud on your PC, follow the steps below for your version of Windows.

Get help using My Photo Stream - Apple Support

If you see either of these messages and you're already signed in, you need to apply your settings:

    • "iCloud Photos is not enabled. Open iCloud for Windows 4.0."
    • "iCloud Photos is not enabled. Open iCloud Control Panel."

To apply your settings in Windows 8.1:

    1. Close the Windows Explorer window that has the message.
    2. Go to the Start screen, click the down arrow Down arrow in the lower-left corner, then click the iCloud app.
    3. Select Photos.
    4. Next to Photos, click Options.
    5. Select My Photo Stream. If you want to share certain photos, select Photo Sharing as well.
    6. Click OK, then click Apply.
    7. Return to iCloud Photos.

To apply your settings in Windows 8:

    1. Close the Windows Explorer window that has the message.
    2. Go to the Start screen, then click the iCloud tile.
    3. Select Photos.
    4. Next to Photos, click Options.
    5. Select My Photo Stream. If you want to share certain photos, also select Photo Sharing.
    6. Click OK, then click Apply.
    7. Return to iCloud Photos.

To apply your settings in Windows 7:

    1. Close the Windows Explorer window that has the message.
    2. Choose Start menu > All Programs > iCloud > iCloud.
    3. Select Photos.
    4. Next to Photos, click Options.
    5. Select My Photo Stream. If you want to share certain photos, also select Photo Sharing.
    6. Click OK, then click Apply.
    7. Return to iCloud Photos.

    Best Regards,

    Jeremy

The "photos" box is still greyed out as is the rest of the photo selection.  iCloud Drive is on. On my PC I can do nothing with the photo selection. I have restarted the system, tried the process you have delineated but so far, no dice. Any other ideas? (other than buying a Mac)

I too have the same situation.  I have iCloud photosharing enabled and working on my iPhone, iPad and Mac (and it's great!) but I cannot enable it on my Windows 7 box.

I've gone thru the procedure described, I've disabled Photostream and enabled iCloud sharing but it doesn't 'take'.

The one oddity noted is that I seem to be logged on to iCloud (Windows7) using my iCloud email address.  But my actual AppleID uses a different email address as the ID.  On all other devices, and on the Web iCloud interface, I'm logged on using my actual AppleID.   I think this may be the problem.

So, I'm unable to get the iCloud for Windows program to logon using my actual AppleID (it uses the name@iCloud.com email address instead).  How can I get it to logon using my proper AppleID instead?
