Just got new iPad Air 2, contacts were automatically from my
iPhone 4S, but some of my contacts are not showing Facetime, whilst they are on
my phone! Help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

HI there! So are you sure they have apple products too, otherwise they may not show up as facetime accounts. Also, I would just restart the iPad by turning it off then on. That also often helps. Hope this helped. 🙂
Thanks for that. yes I can Facetime them from my iPhone and I have rebooted my iPad. Still no Facetime symbol (in contacts) for some of my contacts!
SSorry I could not be of much use, however I have one last idea. Does this mean you cannot facetime them? Send them a message telling them to FaceTime you, after that, the symbol may appear, nevertheless, will be able to call them from recent in FaceTime. Hope this helps this time

Thanks SaritaKnows, that did the trick, as soon as one of my contacts Facetimed me the acetime symbol appeared, how strange.
I just need to get my other contacts to Facetime me and the problem is solved. Thanks again.

I can't believe this is still a bug a year later! I'm having the same issue. My parents switched to iphone but I was unable to facetime them on my iphone, although on my mac it works fine. I had them facetime me and I picked up on my iphone, and now the icon shows up.. But this is not a fix. Apple needs to fix this for everyone. Please report the bug to apple like I did. The more people that report it, the better chance it'll be fixed.
If you get a new iPad Air 2, you should set up FaceTime to show contacts on iPad. The step is so easy. First you should sign in FaceTime and tap "+" on the top-right side to choose contacts. Then all contacts will be shown on the left side. Finally you can choose one number to call someone. Just these 3 steps can teach you to use FaceTime on iPad.
