Cat-proofing your keyboard

How can I lock my keyboard so when my cat lays on it, nothing happens? He is always walking on it or laying on it while I'm watching movies or listening to music.

You can enable Mouse Keys. Not sure how much it will take care of the issue.

Press Option/alt 5 times to trun it on.

-> OS X: Unable to type while Mouse Keys is enabled - Apple Support

Also, there are a few apps which require a certain key combination to do anything with keyboard.

-> Lockeys and Keyboard Cleaner tool are 2 apps. Google them. ( I haven't tried them).
