But proceeding without a trusted Backup is a serious mistake. Suppose it does not work for some obscure reason.
Make a Backup first before you do anything. Then proceed with confidence.

Jan 2, 2015 8:56 AM in response to Grant Bennet-Alderby rjo98,Thanks. I think my RAID card is 2009 or later, as the date the system config says it was installed was in 2010, and has hardware version 2.0, but it never really says which card it is, or I just don't know how to tell.

As shown in the article, the older card uses an iPass cable, not available in 2009 and later models.
