trackpad not working

Problem : - I have Macbook Pro bought in 2013 and OS Yosemite 10.10.1. For last 2-3 weeks it's Trackpad becomes jumpy as if minds of it's own. Gets stuck ...scrolls on it's own, right click on it's own and so on ....becomes unresponsive...highlights on it's own.

I have looked at another article from an aussie who reported same issue around the same time ...not sure if it's connected. I have tried following :

1. Pressing four corners of touchpad - Fixes the problem momentarily but it comes back after a while

2. Pressing different points on touchpad bit hard - Fixes the problem temporarily.

3. I don' have Time Machine setup so can't revert back to old version.

4. I have started machine in Safe Mode with similar problem

Can someone please advise

Hey kiwimac7781,

Thanks for the question. If I understand correctly, the trackoad is jumpy and unresponsive. I would recommend that you read these articles, they may be helpful in troubleshooting your issue.
