Mavericks download Links Broken

I need to be able to point people to a location allow people to download Mavericks if they have never done so previously. Currently the link to download Mavericks from the Apple store is broken. A majority of Apple Users that are upgrading to YOSEMITE from a previous system are having issues with YOSEMITE. (see commits on many websites about YOSEMITE.)

If someone wants to upgrade, downgrade or reinstall Mavericks they should be able to access the OS in the Apple Store. You can still get older versions:

The direct link I had for Mavericks gets message:

Connecting to the Mac App Store...
Item Not Available > The item you've requested is not currently available in the U.S. store.

I myself have downloaded Mavericks previously so it shows up in my App Store and when attempting to re-download it I get an "Error 1004 please try again later." & "We could not complete your request. There was an error in the App Store. Please try again later. (13)"

Please reinstate the Link for Mavericks so Users that have issues with YOSEMITE can still upgrade, downgrade or reinstall Mavericks.

Apple has removed Mavericks since the release of Yosemite. There is nothing wrong with the App Store site. Apple does not read these forums, and you are not speaking to Apple here. At least for now you cannot get Mavericks so move on to Yosemite.

Apple does allow people to purchase previous OS X, Purchasing includes free versions. If you read any of my messages and followed the links available you would see they are still available except for Mavericks due to broken links. I was able to purchase Snow Leopard recently so I could upgrade to Mavericks or Yosemite.

My reply was only about Mavericks. Mavericks is not available for download, and that has nothing to do with broken links. Whatever you believe is the case you have it only partly right. About Mavericks is not one of them and has not been so since the release of Yosemite. You can only install Mavericks if you have done so already and re-download it from your Purchases page in the App Store.

The Point of this is, many peoples issues are they did not read the entire requirements on the Mac Website for Yosemite before upgrading to Yosemite. As a result of feature Requirements needing a newer model MAC than the Check your Mac hardware lists and they crash, run slow, or appear buggy. Many people lost the original Mavericks install app when they upgraded to Mavericks because they did not save / relocate the install app before running it.

We all were under the impression that we could re-download it from the App Store. This is failing and those that did not previously download Mavericks do not have this option available.

Upgrade to OS X Yosemite.

Folks have reported most recently that they were able to buy OS X Mavericks by calling the Apple Store. It cost them $20 like all of the previous versions of OS X and they had to wait 3 business days for a redemption code to download it from the Mac App Store.

However, one might be able to have the Retail Store re-install Mavericks if you can get to one, lugging your MAC. (They will not give you a copy, which defeats my / our needs.) Only having the Server versions available defeats the purpose. All standard versions of the OS X should be made available as they are still heavily in use... Mavericks is only a year and a few months old.

As I plainly stated, they are buying Mavericks through the Apple Store, not the Mac App Store as your links plainly show, just as you can buy Lion and Mt Lion and they are waiting for the emailed redemption code.

And yes, the direct links for Lion, Mt Lion and Mavericks for the MAS no longer work because they are now sold through the Apple Store only. Those links will never work again.

That's an issue to take up with Apple. Apple is noty here. Apple does not answer questions here. This is a user to user tech support forum.

All previous versions were paid versions before Mavericks. Further note: Mavericks is supposed to be Free and is still posted as free download on Apple's site. I do not see anywhere that they now charge for it.

As I also plainly stated in my first post, users here in this MAS forum, reported that they were charged $20 by the Apple Store for redemption codes for Mavericks.
