iPod gen. 4, in Messages, will login, verify, and then just go back to the loin screen. The ID and password are correct, and I don't know what to do.

I have the exact same problem, I am in Europe and but originally from Canada, my iMessage stopped working as soon as I updated my time zone, I néed help, it just reverts back to log in screen and nothing happens, I have checked all the threads, I have tried resetting and changing password and all of that, someone please help me.
Is there anyway to email apple support? I don't want some mod to tell me to look at some thread, there is Obvs a answer to this, I have a iPod touch with ios5 on it, I can't call because I am in another country, I want to message my family, somebody help me. Log in screen to apple I'd just reverts back after hitting nex, won'tlet me verify.
There is no email support. If yo no longer have free telephone support Apple will charge you $30 or so.
If you tried:

Then
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

- Reset all settings

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
Did you get this fixed? I am having the same problem with iMessage but facetime and safari work fine so I don't think it's anything to do with network settings. Tried changing appleID password and changing DNS setting as suggested on other threads and nothing seems to be working. This is also an ipod touch 4th gen with ios 6.1.6
I have exactly the same problem with the iTouch 4 running iOS 6.1.6. Tried everything suggested. Perhaps with the recent added functionality to iMessage in iOS 8, iMessage is now incompatible with older versions of itself?

I've been searching for a solution to my iMessage login problem for months and tried everything from those frustrating links and all the tips from other users.
Here is what finally worked:
1) Settings > Privacy > Location Services > On
2) Settings > General > Date & Time > Set Automatically > On
3) Reboot device until Apple logo appears
4) Settings > Messages > Sign In
