Q: how do I make wallpaper show on lockscreen.  I've chosen one, but just get a black screen.

Maybe I don't understand the lock screen.  I thought it was the screen that shows up requiring the passcode after a set time.  I have chosen a wallpaper for the lock screen and "set" it several times, but once the passcode is required, all I get is a black screen.  Once I punch in that, it goes straight to my regular pages.  So, how do I get a selected wallpaper show up on the lock screen?

I've upgraded to iOS8, by the way, but it doesn't give me that choice when I selected my product.
