3 minutes left of installation

Hi! I'm trying to install Mountain Lion after Yosemite caused my Macbook Pro to run very slowly. I've already wiped out my hard drive (thus rendering my Macbook Pro OS X-less). I have no back up (my external hard drive crashed months ago....) I'm using a bootable USB to install ML. The progress bar shows that the installation is 70% finished with '3 minutes' remaining. I left my laptop to install for four hours and it's still stuck on 'Retrieiving Javaessentials package'. I rebooted, tried partitioning my hard drive and installing the OS X on another partition and an external SD Card but nope, it always get stuck at the Javaessentials part. Reinstalling the original OS X through internet recovery is out of the question as my wifi connection's password is WEP and not WPA2. I've tried to change it from WEP to WPA2 but it didn't work.

Should I reinstall the installer or should I try again and wait it out?

I waited it out and the installation finished, the macbook rebooted but it got stuck at the installing OS X on hard drive part. Left it on overnight and when I owke up no progress was made. Went to check Disk Utility and it turns out that my hard drive is failing. Time to head to the Apple store and get it repaired. Thank you for your reply, Eric!
