Q: How to turn off ringtones on MacBook?

Every time my phone rings, my MacBook Pro plays a ringtone. I'm often working with my phone off, but it still rings on the computer. How do I turn off ringtones on the MacBook? Thanks!

    Hi Centime,

It sounds as if you have Continuity turned on allowing your MacBook to receive phone calls made to your iPhone, among other things. To turn this off, follow the steps in this article -

Connect your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Mac using Continuity - Apple Support

    Specifically this section -

    Turn off iPhone cellular calls

To turn off iPhone cellular calls on your iPad or iPod touch, go to Settings > FaceTime and turn off iPhone Cellular Calls.

On your Mac, open the FaceTime app and go to FaceTime > Preferences. Click Settings and deselect the iPhone Cellular Calls option.

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

    Best,

Is there a way to still get the note in the corner and be able to take and make calls from my computer, but to just turn off the ringtone for incoming calls, without muting the entire computer? Thanks!
