Itunes 12 Homesharing not working

Hi,

I am having difficulty getting home-sharing to work with my macbook pro.

I am opening up Itunes 12.0.1 and clicking File>Homesharing>Turn On Homesharing

After tapping in my AppleID and password Itunes doesn't seem to process any further. The buttons change from blue to white and nothing happens.

Any help as to why this is? and why I can't turn on homesharing.

Help would be appreciated
