Only the carrier it is locked to can unlock it. however, technically speaking Verizon iPhones have the GSM side unlocked for use with any non U.S. carrier.

So you should not need to do anything.

Just insert a sim card from a compatible GSM carrier into the sim tray and your done.

You contact Verizon and request an unlock.  Only the carrier can legitimately unlock an iPhone from the carrier.

You contact Verizon and ask them, as TJBUSMC1973 suggests. If you cannot find a way of contacting Verizon, you need to try harder.

Have you even tried to insert a sim card in the GSM sim card slot? 

You will not be able to use it with a CDMA carrier, but a GSM carrier should not have any issues.
