Q: Home sharing not working with appleTV after I moved itunes to new computer

I Bought a new Mac computer and followed the directions to move my iTunes library from my windows PC to my new Mac. Now my home sharing doesn't work with my AppleTV. I get an error that says it cannot connect to iTunes librarY.

I Have tried reboot both the computer and AppleTV. I have turn on and off home sharing multiple times on both the computer and appletv.

    Hey rjcarter,

     

    Good job on troubleshooting the issue so far. The next steps would be to check the network and firewall settings as well as resetting the wireless router. Take a look at the article below for more information about troubleshooting Home Sharing.

    Thanks for the reference.  But I did come across that article.  Nothing in there helped my situation.

    I was able to solve this last night.  With my iTunes open I went to preferences, general.  I changed the name of my library to some thing different.  Then the appleTV connected to it.  I then changed the iTunes Library name back to the original name.  And AppleTVs are still connecting to it, just fine.  So, as a last step in my migration, from one computer to the next.  I guess you have to rename the iTunes Library to something different so the Home Sharing network is refreshed?  Anyways, it all working now.  Thanks for the help.
