Thanks for the quick response to my problem but I still have it.
I have downloaded iTunes a dozen or more times. That seems to work OK, but the
Installer stops before completing. Each time a different error message pops up.
The latest ones are : Apple Application Support not found. Error 2.
I booted into Safe Mode using msconfig.exe. Clicked on the Manual box and OK.
Restarted and got an enormous screen saying I was in Safe Mode. Message
presented was that I was not connected to the internet so couldn't troubleshoot.
Went back to msconfig.exe and undid the Safe Mode.
Downloaded iTunes once more and again got the message Error 2.
I would add a new user if I could get the entire iTunes program to install.
Anymore ideas?

I appreciate all the help you have given me but nothing is working.
The iTunes app does not load completely regardless of the number of times I have tried.
I will try calling Dell directly to see if there is a system problem.
