Q: Trackpad sensitivity is erratic

Having trouble with the trackpad sensitivity on my Macbook Pro Retina with Yosemite. The usual gentle tapping works in some apps, but in others it requires several attempts, sometimes clicking to get any response. Any settings to work with? Thanks
