Can I tell if someone is using my Find my iPhone?

Today at 2:08 AM I saw the GPS indicator on my phone.

I went to check and got this (see picture) the Find My iPhone had the purple icon which means: a purple location services icon will appear next to an item that has recently used your location

My question is who? it was not me. Is there any way to find out who logged in or from where?

yes and no.

we just found out what really happened. The phone was at 4% so Find My iPhone keeps track of the phone when it hits below 10%.

the person I have the password has no idea what iCloud is. I was just curious if anyone was able to tell me if it was possible to see the location of the log ins in iCloud.

No, you really don't understand how Find my iPhone works. In order for Find my iPhone to know where you are it must use Location Services. If it didn't, when you went to locate your iPhone using another device with the app or by logging in to https://icloud.com/find it would have no idea where your phone was. So it periodically checks your location. That way it can also tell you where your phone WAS, 10 minutes ago, for example, even it is now out of range.

HOWEVER, if you shared your Apple ID you made a big mistake. You should NEVER give your Apple ID and password to anyone else for any reason. Even someone you know and trust. As you did you should change your Apple ID password, verify that your security questions have not been changed. And probably add 2 factor authentication to your account. And NEVER share any password with anyone again.

I have been in the computer field for 40 years. I've had passwords of various kinds almost since the beginning. And I have never told anyone any of my passwords. Even when my IT department needs access to my computer, I enter the password for them. And they understand and approve. After all, they don't want the responsibility if my account was ever compromised.

There is nothing creepy about it. Find my iPhone periodically updates its knowledge of your position. It does it continuously at low battery levels, but it does it all the time, but less frequently, as you move about. If you don't share your Apple ID with anyone then no one can track you with Find my iPhone. People you give permission to can track you using Find Friends.

I Shared my email and my password to someone else so they could get a file from my inbox. Since my Apple ID is the same and same password that person probably used Find my iPhone. I did not want to believe it but it seems to be the only answer.

I Changed all my passwords.

I sincerely hope you've now realized how dangerous it can be to

1) Give out your account passwords to other people.

2) Use the same password for multiple accounts.
