Q: How do I upload rushed from a CF Card into Final Cut Express?
I use Final Cut Express 4. It had been set up to ingest rushes shot on MiniDV tapes. However I have converted my SonyZ5 Camcorder to record in HD onto a Compact Flash Memory Card. While these rushes will upload to my MacBookPro, FCE refuses to recognise them.

Is this using the Sony HVR-MRC1K?
Don't know from personal experience if it works with FCE, but according to this brochure:
It does work with FCP if you have installed the correct driver - the Sony Recording Unit Log & Transfer Plug - which is (was) available for download from a Sony website.
If you don't have any success with this, you can purchase ClipWrap:
http://www.divergentmedia.com/clipwrap
and use it to convert the camera files to AIC codec files which will directly import into FCE.
