From your description, it sounds like you may be trying to join a "captive" WiFi network (login page/portal instead of a network password). If so, you may find the information in the following article helpful:

As Authetication i use a WPA2 with EAS encryption!
It's a free network but still the captive portal page is opened when connectin to my network and asking a username and password. (don't know what to fill in here)
Is there a solution for a work-around? or a way to disable this?
