How do I get rid of the gray background in pages on the sides of a document?
Some of my documents have these gray side bars and some don't. I want to know how to get rid of them in pages v5.5.1
MacBook Pro (13-inch Mid 2010), OS X Yosemite (10.10.1)
Open your Pages v5.5.1 document, and enable the Format side panel. In the lower right corner of the format panel, your mouse pointer will change into a northwest-southwest pointer. Drag at 45° northwest until your gray side bars are closed. Save your document.
This works, but only when the format panel is opened. When I hide the format panel, the gray bars re-appear. I am looking to get rid of them even when the format panel is hidden.
Increase your document zoom to 125% (same as fit width). Otherwise, there is no configurable solution.
They are not "gray bars" that is the area off your page.
Crop your view as Viking suggests.
