If you are looking to make a copy of a non-copy-protected CD or DVD, you may want to try making a disk image of the disk in question using Disk Utility, then burning that disk image to a new burnable CD/DVD. You may find the information and steps outlined in the following articles helpful (some of them refer to other versions of OS X, but the steps should be similar in Yosemite):
