Jan 6, 2015 9:41 PM in response to franthecatererby Linc Davis,Please open the Sound preference pane and select the Output tab. Select Internal Speakers from the list of output devices, if not already selected. Test by adjusting the volume slider; you should hear an alert sound.
Next, go to the Input tab and select Internal Microphone as the source, if applicable. If your model (mini or Mac Pro) doesn't have an internal microphone, select an external one that you connected. Test by speaking into the mic; you should see a response on the Input level meter.
If you made any changes to the sound settings, try FaceTime again. Otherwise, sign out of FaceTime on all your Apple devices, including iOS devices if applicable. Log out or restart the computer. Sign back in to FaceTime and test.
