Q: iWeb change contact details

iWeb - I recently changed my email address on my Contact page but when someone clicks on the published website it diverts to my old email address. The old email address is obviously embedded somehow.

I read another answer to an old post which said I need to change the contact details on my front page.  I only have contact details listed on page 4 of my website.

My website address is www.research4film.com

My new email is robynbersten@me.com which appears published but when you click on this it diverts an email to my old address.

Can anyone help?   I'm also wondering if there is a better software to use as I want to update my website.

MacBook Pro, iOS 8.1.2, iWeb

    Open Addressbook.

Select the name with the emailaddress you want to use.

From the Card menu select Make This My Card.

    Open iWeb.

Make a slight change on the page.

    Publish the page.

Yes, there is better software out there to use, because as you know, iWeb has not been sold or supported by Apple for over 2 years now.

You will have to re-build your site from scratch though with most of the alternatives, because with the exception of one of them, you cannot import, but start from scratch, but if you want to update your site, then that might not be a bad thing anyway.

Take a look at RapidWeaver, Sandvox, Freeway Pro/Express 7, WebAcappella 4, Flux V (Has import facilities) and Macaw.

Also EverWeb is the most like iWeb to use and has a very iWeb like interface and Rage Software are actively developing this - it has contact forms, drop down menus, PayPal integration and SEO that you can use in the programme itself without the need for 3rd party apps, so this might be a good alternative.

As a result of seeing this response I tried EverWeb for the two websites I rin. While I had to move everything one text box and picture at a time I now have both websites published with EverWeb. Other than taking a lot of time the change as very easy because EverWeb works almost exactly the way iWeb does.

EverWeb also has a lot of features that were missing from iWeb. By changing I have been able to exchange a scramble of menue items to dropdown menues which really help with navigation and ease of use. There are also many different graphic possibilities and ways to display pictures With EverWeb that weren't possible with iWeb. The best thing for me is that EverWeb is developing. The creators are constantly making upgrades fixing bugs or adding new features. They are also readily available to answer questions and solve problems. An email gets a response suggesting a solution within 24 hours and usually the same day. The emails are personal responses not generated by a computer.

EverWeb is available as a full program in trial form. The only thing missing is the section allowing a website to be published to the Internet. I was able to recreate a whole website before I paid for it. That way I was sure that it would fit my needs before buying.

I have absolutely no connection to EverWeb or Rage Software. I'm just a happy user/customer.
