Re: iMac does not recognize 5th gen Touch
in response to jumperpainter
What do you mean by :iTunes recognizes the Touch, but does not Sync with it."?
What exactly happens when you try to sync?
Does iTunes see the iPod?
iTunes sees the ”3 Devices”,
Nano, Touch and iPad
on the iMac, Finder sees only the Nano
Was the iPod previous synced to another iTunes library/computer?
No
Have you successfully synced from this iTunes library/computer before?
Yes, when the Touch was initially bought.
If so have you done anything like update iTunes on the computer since it last successfully synced?
Yes
Do the songs play in iTunes?
Yes
Does any media now sync to the iPod?
No
iTunes (12.0.1.26), Under Music or Playlists, NO “little checkbox” appears for any tracks, for any album; reference:
“Unchecking Songs
Next to each song in iTunes is a little checkbox. By default, all songs are checked and thus will be synced to your device. To choose what songs will be synced, you'll need to uncheck them. Go through your music library and uncheck each song you don't want to have synced to your iPhone or iPod.”
Do you have the right boxes checked to sync?
iTunes: Syncing media content to iOS devices and iPod
Try syncing using the manual method
Synching shows that it processes thru 4 steps, but looking at the Touch, nothing is added to it from the My Music, Recently Added, library with its newly added albums and playlists.
Managing content manually on iPhone, iPad, and iPod
Tried it, but NO changes when process is run.
