failed during automatic execution, error -1017 ( insufficient permissions).

Hello,

A few months ago we installed OSX server 10.10. We have an environment with 30+ macs and users connect and authenticate using Open Directory to the file shares. Both AFP and SMB are enabled for sharing.

One user who was originally running 10.8 has always worked with subfolders of the file share saved in her favourites. Generally she just drags and drops files into the favourite alias to copy. This worked fine on the old 10.7 server. However since the upgrade when she tries to copy the error.

"failed during automatic execution, error -1017 ( insufficient permissions)."

Is displayed, if only one file is selected it copies, but if multiple files are selected only the first one copies.

The users should be connecting to the file share using AFP, however after the issue occurs if you do a "Get Info" on the alias in use it shows a SMB path to the shared folder.

Deleting and re-adding these alias will switch the path back to AFP and temporary fix the problem, but before long it reoccurs.

The only thing that makes this user different is she also connects to Windows based SMB shares.

We've tried creating a new user profile, upgrading the client to 10.10 but with no avail. Has anyone else encountered this issue? is there anything else worth trying before we rebuild the machine?
