Why can't I exit an app by pinching? Should I reset?

Most of the time I can exit an app by pinching, but sometimes (usually two or so, sometimes three, times a day) I cannot. I have iOS 8.1.2 and got my Air 2 on Dec 1 last year. I tried talking to AppleSupport via online chat but I felt like I was chatting with a robot (maybe I should call tomorrow and talk to an actual person?). I posted an earlier question about this, and someone said it's probably a glitch in the new OS. But the AppleSupport person I spoke to said I should backup my iPad and then reset it. Would that take care of the problem?

Don't restore the iPad. IMO, you will be wasting your time. Perhaps if you restore as a totally new device and don't install anything on it and just use the built in apps, that behavior might return to normal. A number of people have talked about this Mulitasking gestures being flakey in iOS 8 and IMO, it is a bug. Go to Settings>General>Multitasking Gestures and toggle the setting off, then on again. that should fix it for a few days anyway. Repeat as needed. Hopefully it will be sorted in a future update.

I Restored my iPad for some issues that I was having. It did not fix that for me. If you really want to take the time to do it, go ahead and restore. I just don't think that will fix it.
