Which Macbook Pro Retina Model?

I am a college student and need to purchase a new Macbook computer. I would wait for the "rumored" Macbook Air Retina, but I need it sooner. I am going with a Macbook Pro Retina, because the Retina display doesn't hurt my eyes as much. My question is should I go with the 2.6 GHz with a 256 GB SSD or 2.8 GHz with a 512 GB SSD. Or would it be beneficial to upgrade the 2.6GHz to a 2.8 GHZ and increase the Memory from 8gb to 16gb. Thank you in advance for the advice.

unless your doing heavy gaming the 8gb of ram is fine I like to play Minecraft Portal Goat simulator and starmade on my 2.6 8gb ram 256gb SSD I also use this for some school work it works great. I suggest just the base model with 256 or the 512 with 2.6 but the 2.8 is not necessary theres no graphics upgrade and proccesor power is not really demanded these days. with the smaller version you can also save a few bucks and get your self a nice game on steam or a copy of word if you prefer it. I suggest the smaller version unless you're a super demanding user this will work fine also with smaller cpu better battery life a need.
