adjust sound when connected to dock

Hi.

Every day at work i'm using an original iPhone 5s dock with Line Out when charging my iPhone, but after the jackstick is moved to the bottom of the
phone, it's not possible anymore to use the headset when calling or listen to music when the phone is charging!

My problem is then, when i use the Line Out on the back of the dock with my headset it's not possible to adjust the volume neither on the headset nor the phone.(it's very loud)

Is there anyone who have a solution or know if Apple later will release a software update supporting to adjust the volume when connected
to a dock.

Just tried what you did, this is what I found out, I tried that with the EarPods that came with the phone and my Bose headset.

I used my iPhone 5s, running 8.1.1 and the original 5s dock connected to the adapter as well.

- Generally, the iPhone remembers the volume settings for each headset you plug in.

- As soon as you plug into the iPhone dock and your headphones are connected to the dock, the volume can't be adjusted anymore, because it stays the same, no matter if you had it on maximum while using your headphones before or not. Bring up the control center from the bottom of the screen, and you will see the volume bar disappearing as soon as you dock your phone with the headphones connected to the dock.

- This will not happen if there are no headphones connected to the dock, the volume bar will be back in the control center and the volume can also be adjusted on the side of the phone.

The volume on both headphones was not too loud for me, just like medium settings with only the EarPods connected.

Did you already try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again? You will not lose data by resetting.

Hi Ingo2711.

You're right, when i dock the iPhone the volume bar dissapear and the volume can not be adjustet, but neither, when i try to
set the volume without the headset in the dock it's still on the same level when i connect the headset.

I wished that it was possible to adjust the volume, so it would be possible to charge my phone and use the headset at the sametime! 😟

If the volume is too loud when you plug in the headphones, did you try another dock and compare the volume?

I just plugged mine into the computer and connected the EarPods, the volume is not too loud. I agree that you should be able to adjust it.

It could be that Apple did not include that feature, because they thought that most users connect their stereo system to the dock and use the volume controls of the amplifier to adjust the volume.

Give Apple some feedback about that, maybe they will include that in some future update, if this is possible:
