    For a single Apple ID, you get 5 GB. All your devices set up with that Apple ID link to that same space. That's how you stay in sync across devices - they're all syncing to the same info. If you want to have separate accounts on your devices, set the devices up to use different Apple IDs. Then you'll get 5 GB for each ID. If you set it up that way, you won't be able to sync your mail, reminders, calendar etc between the devices. But if you want to have different family members use the devices, get separate Apple IDs and they'll all have 5 GB

    it kinda of stupid to have different accounts the whole reason to use the iCloud is to share. i just think its kind of a shame you get 5 free then the upgrade is 20. what happen to 10 or 15 i have 3 devices 5 really isn't a lot. so now I'm stuck buying 20

    i wouldn't think of it as getting "stuck" withe the 20GB plan. about $12/yr is pretty reasonable for a very secure ad-free storage of 20GB of data. And $48/yr for 200GB is still a good buy that gives you enough storage space to put a lot of pictures, music and movies, and still have plenty of space to backup the 3 devices. You then don't have to worry about backing your devices up to a computer/hard drive that at some point may crash and you lose everything.

    @jennifer

    You can delete some files in your iCloud, for example photos and/or videos in your iCloud Photo Stream

    Visit iCloud storage upgrades and downgrades - Apple Support to learn how to upgrade your storage.

    So if you have 100 contacts, 20 appointments a week and write 2 letters a day and have an iPad, when you get an iPhone too you are suddenly going to write 4 letters a day, go to 40 appointments a week and know 200 people instead.
