Q: iTunes Radio skipping songs by itself

I have an iPad 2.  When listening to iTunes Radio through the Music app, songs are skipped without me touching the skip button.  It will do a false restart, where the screen will blackout with the Apple logo.  It returns to the log in screen.  I have attempted resetting, rebooting and USB resetting, but it is still doing it.  Any suggestions?  I received this iPad as a gift from my school, so I believe it is out of warranty.
