Connecting Rebel XT with iPhoto 5

We have a brand-new Rebel XT here at work. Trying to get it to hook up with our Macs and it won't work. The Mac just doesn't see the camera despite all my efforts. We're using iPhoto 5 and the last version of Panther.

Does anyone know if the Canon drivers for this camera are present in this setup? My guess is we need newer version of iPhoto and OS X to make this work.

We'll probably have to use Canon's EOS Utility to download.

You can try one last thing...

Open Applications > Image Capture, look in preferences and check out settings for "when camera connected"... you can also download your photos using Image Capture and then import into iPhoto...
