MacPro 2009 freezing once after booting

Hello Everybody,

I have the following problem that I didn't find a solution so far.

Early 2009 8-core 2,26GHz with Yosemite (first clean install I did

after buying the mac was Lion and it happened the same on the

older system as well) when I switch on the computer and log in, even

when not touching anything, the computer freezes after a couple of minutes,

like not responds to anything or the grey screen with text that something serious

happened and the system will be rebooted. After it reboots (or after I switch it

off and on again) it works stable. I can not switch it off for a couple of days and

it's ok. When I switch it off again for a night or so, the problem appears again. Could

it be the GT120?

The items, except for the first on, under Diagnostic information list problems. Does the time of any of them correspond to the freezes? If so then go to those log details and poste them here.

If not then note the time of the next freeze and then up rebooting open the Console app which is in Finder>Applications>Utilities and look for log entries for that time. Post them here

I didn't switch the computer off for the night recently. I will do it tonight and switch it on in the morning while it will be cold. I somehow believe the computer temperature has something to do with the crashes. After I reboot the computer after the crash, it keeps on working stable even for days. When I switch it off for a night and switch it on again in the morning it usually crashes then. Thanks for your reply.

Ok. As I presumed the computer crashed after first boot today. After several minutes it showed the plain grey screen. I rebooted it with the power button. No other way. Here is the report the system showed me after it booted again:

Hi,

So. I have no clue how to get rid of the "[loaded] com.Perfect.Driver.SystemAudioRecorder (1.0.0 - SDK 10.9)" process. And what's more, I did the memtest and it said my RAM was fine... Today I started the computer, after more less 4 minutes of working it froze and after a couple of minutes restarted itself, showed the grey screen with text "your computer restarted because of a problem". Here is the report. The CPU 1 changed to CPU 4... and the report itself is somehow shorter....

Your premium quality Mac Pro with Xeon Processor features Hardware memory error detection and correction of its Error Correction Code ECC Memory.

I did the memtest and it said my RAM was fine...

It is normal for an ordinary memory test to pass first time every time despite a Memory problem. Errors are corrected automatically.

Single-bit errors are detected and corrected in memory-cycle times (no slowdown) and a Background process eventually picks up the error indicators and tabulates them. A snapshot of memory state can be displayed in a report shown below:

Uncorrectable double-bit errors are intended to cause a Kernel panic, machine check, error code 4 or 5, uncorrected error or error overflow, detected by multiple processors at once. This is exactly the type of panic report you posted.

Checking ECC is tricky and as Grant said, not usually reliable. People have found errors sometimes using Rember, not sure why the GUI version would, I prefer running dozens of concurrent terminal windows of Memtest

Hardware memory errors like parity errors are one of the few times (sensors and such being another) where AHT proved useful, but then there already were errors showing up - and growing fast - in system profile.

If there are parity errors, you cannot rely on ECC to 'fix' those and you can end with garbage out data being written.

Yes, at the moment, everything is fine. It certainly would be nice if, after making an error, your memory simply keeled over, dead. But that is not the case. Memory fault isolation is difficult.

Some prefer to run hours to days long passes of memory tests. Some suggest you run half your normal amount of memory. I prefer something different.

I tend to advocate that you use your Mac the way you normally would. Each and every read from memory is being checked by Hardware error detection. From time-to-time, invoke that report again. One of those times, the report will show an error has occurred. That module is the BAD module.

NB> The information in the report is STATIC. You need to invoke the report again or use the "Refresh" menu Item to get new data.

Also, if a module is ever reported as "empty" or half its correct size, that module was found to be BAD at Startup.

So. After a brake decided to come back to solving the problem. Of course after a crash that happened while rendering a video, exporting

photos from Lightroom and having some more apps on. I run the Apple Hardware Test and it gave me the 4SNS / 1 / 40000000: TNOD-127.875 ... I read that it is a problem with one of the temperature sensors on motherboard. Will try to give the computer to mac service here... I wonder what will they say.
