a lot of used space is still reported in iBooks after deleting all ebooks

Hi,

I recently give my daughter my old iPAD mini, so I deleted all the ebook stuff on it. There was about 20 GB reported on use only by iBooks.

Although some space has been freed, iBooks still reports about 6 GB of used space - although is almost empty (only four small ebooks, less than 1MB). I have tested it using not only iBooks, but iTunes and an app called iFunBox. All of them reports the same: iBooks is empty, but it is still using 6 GB of space.

Also, the iBooks app shows a sluggish performance, as if it were managing a lot of content.

I'm using iOS 8.1.2 and a first - generation iPad mini.

Regards.

Hi ,

I'm sorry to hear you are having this issue with your iPad. If you are seeing unaccounted for space being taken up by iBooks, you may want to check and/or delete the used data from Settings > General > Usage > Manage Storage as noted in the following article:

See how much storage you've used on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support
