Q: My new Apple TV will not connect to my network.

I have an older Apple TV that connects perfectly so I bought a second one to use in the bedroom only to find that it will not connect to my network.  I tried doing all the things suggested in support and it still will not connect.  Finally, I returned it to the Apple Store and purchased another one only to find that it doesn't connect to my network either.  Help?

So here is what I found after several frustrating days of fighting with this freaking ATV. All I've been trying to do is play a movie I purchased from iTunes (on my iMac) to my ATV. I've been getting errors that the ATV couldn't connect to iTunes, that it couldn't play the content , that it couldn't connect to my library, yada yada yada. And , it seemed that every time i tried it again, the error changed.  I set every possible sharing option. I reloaded the ATV to factory, connected the ATV to the iMac and updated it to the current version. Nothing, absolutely nothing worked. Here's the thing I tried that worked: Both the iMac and the ATV are on wifi. (signal strong, all devices within 10 feet of the router. FYI - internet speed at 50m down, 10meg up) . As a last resort , I connected the ATV to ethernet and.. BOOM.. EVERYTHING worked as it should.. Not sure why..  I'm wondering if there is a new OS problem with wifi connections..

I looked everywhere and didn't see any suggestion to try ethernet. In an effort to help others as frustrated as me i'm posting this in a few of the forums..

    Good Luck.
