Whenever I use imessage on my mac it autocorrects my messages. This is actually pretty annoying because usually it changes words that aren't spelt incorrectly to other words. Is there any way of turning this off? Typing on my computer I don't need/want autocorrect.

You can turn of autocorrect globally or within an app.

Turn off autocorrection
- For a specific app: In the app, choose Edit > Spelling and Grammar > Correct Spelling Automatically (it’s off when a checkmark isn’t shown).
- For all apps: Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Keyboard, click Text, then deselect the “Correct spelling automatically” checkbox.
