Q: Can't delete individual texts on iphone 5c 8.1.1!

On my iphone 5c, 8.1.1: I know how to go to copy/move, but every other time I do this the camera icon pops up instead of the trashcan.  I've read that resetting works, and I've done that and it works for a few deletions, but then the drat camera shows up again with no trash option!  This is ridiculous.

    Hi ekl4583,

     

    I apologize, I'm a bit unclear on exactly what you are seeing, and/or the process you are using to try and delete these messages. You may want to make sure you are following the process outlined in the following article:

     

    How do I delete a message?

    1. To delete a message, tap and hold the message bubble, then tap More.
    2. Tap Delete All to delete all the messages. Or tap to select the messages you want to delete, then tap  Delete button.

     

    After you delete a message, you can recover it only by restoring from a backup.
