Jan 8, 2015 1:58 PM in response to JMarkyBBby William Lloyd,You probably don't want to add applications to your desktop. Try clicking the LaunchPad icon in the dock; it'll bring up your applications like the iPhone home screen.
If you have gestures enabled and a trackpad, you can do a 4-finger pinch to get LaunchPad to show up. Or you can set up a keyboard shortcut in System Preferences.

Thanks for your reply, that helps a little. So, I can't have anything on my desktop?
Thinking out of the box then, can I make the widgets screen default desktop screen?
