Q: My dictation is no longer working on my macbook air. The microphone icon comes up, but nothing appears on the screen when I dictate. any ideas?

Has anyone else experienced a problem with dictation suddenly failing? My microphone icon appears and seems as usual, but no dictation appears.

MacBook Air, OS X Yosemite (10.10.1)
