During the middle of the installation and error pops up, tittled 1921. The error says I need to verify my Apple Services something. Can somebody please help me? Thank You.
Here's my situation: I downloaded iTunes a few years ago, never thinking I would get an iPod. It's version 4 or so. Now I just got an iPod and I needed to update to the newest iTunes because iTunes 4 wouldn't recognize the iPod. I try to install and it stops at "Stopping Services", then after a little while this error pops up:
"Error 1921.Service iPod Service (iPodService) could not be stopped. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to stop system services."
I click Retry and it happens again. I click Cancel and it exits.
I tried to uninstall thru Control Panel, and the exact same thing happens: it stops at "Stopping Services" and the same error pops up.
I still have dial-up, and I have some songs that I haven't downloaded yet. I wonder if this has anything to do with it...
Please, if anyone can help, this is driving me nuts! Thanks.
Although this link is for a different reason, follow the steps concerning the Apple Service, and it might help. If this just screws up your computer more, I'm sorry.

Nope, it didn't work. The Service Status said "Stopping" and all four buttons are grayed out. Thanks for the tip, it seems like it should have worked, but it didn't. Any other ideas?
Wait, I'm confused. The solution to the problem I'm having when I upgrade iTunes is to upgrade iTunes? I mean, I really appreciate the help and I don't mean to sound sarcastic, but I don't think that will work.
What's that Windows Management Instrumentation thing? Maybe I don't have that. Any way to tell?
