How to I clean and tidy my old ipad for my daughter to use?

If you go to this site:Apple - Support - Search there will be a long list of Family Sharing references.

The basics come down to, the iPad must have iOS 8 installed, and you will have to setup the sharing account. Your daughter will need an Apple ID that you register as part of your sharing. Then after erasing the iPad, installing her Apple ID, she can download the apps you have available for your family members to share.

You could go through the material on the iPad, item by item, and remove what you want from her usage, such as email and specific apps. But the task is easier, from my point of view, to just erase the iPad, setup as new with her Apple ID, email, etc., and then use sharing to install the apps she is interested in using. That way you don't end up missing something you wanted to remove that can cause conflicts.

Since the current-installed apps are tied to your Apple ID there can be conflicts in updating the apps under another Apple ID, even with Sharing added after the fact.

I always prefer the most direct approach because I ALWAYS forget something.

If you want to cleans the old iPad completely, you will need to remove the iCloud Find My function if you have that activated so the device is fully released. Then go to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings. The iPad will then have to be setup as a new device, which will make it truly your daughter's iPad.
