Symantic Web Site

Recently, trying to get Norton AntiVirus (NAV) updates, all LiveUpdate downloads end with "there was an error performing this update". I used Symantec's downloaded "Remove SymMacFiles" program (suspecting corrupted files), reinstalled NAV 10.0, and tried to update VirusDefs - error message again. I repeated this drill a second time - same result. Inexplicitly, the NAV user's guide doesn't list a phone number for support! Going to their web site, now all I can get is the SBBOD when I select "Support". I have checked my disk OK with Disk Warrior, checked my permissions, checked Safari OK with other web sites. Is anyone else having trouble with Symantec's web site? Has anyone had this problem with NAV download updates? And finally - can anyone offer up a phone number? Thanks in advance for any response

I've seen this issue with people trying to update their subscriptions with Symantec and it failing when they try to access the secure symantec registration site. A workaround that has worked in the past is to run a liveupdate, which will fail but will continue to run in the background anyway(doesn't make sense right?)and then norton will give you a message that key components needed updates and to reboot. After reboot, norton will be at a point where it will allow you to accesws secure sites and access their registration site.
Doesn't make sense but it's happened alot where I work. If this doesn't help here's there support line number 800-441-7234...
Hope this helps!
