    Hi champrider,

Welcome to the Support Communities!  Before you delete any files from iCloud or from your computer, make sure you have a backup of your information.   Here is how you delete photos from My Photo Stream (iCloud).

Delete photos from My Photo Stream - Apple Support
    http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204022

You can delete photos from My Photo Stream on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, from your Mac using iPhoto or Aperture, or from your PC using iCloud for Windows.

When you delete a photo from My Photo Stream on an iOS device, Mac, or PC, that photo will be deleted from the My Photo Stream view on all your devices after you connect each device to Wi-Fi or Ethernet. Each device must use the required software and have My Photo Stream turned on.

The following photos won't be deleted when you delete photos from My Photo Stream:

    • Photos that you copied to the Photos tab or Camera Roll on your iOS device
    • Photos that you imported into your iPhoto or Aperture library
    • Photos that you copied into a folder on your PC that aren't part of My Photo Stream

After you delete a photo, you might still see it on your iOS devices if it's more than 30 days old and you have fewer than 1000 photos in My Photo Stream.

    Before you begin

Update each device to the required software:

    • iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 5.1 or later
    • Mac with OS X Lion v10.7.5 or later and iPhoto 9.2.2 or Aperture 3.2.3 or later
    • Apple TV (2nd generation or later) with Apple TV software 5.0 or later
    • PC with Windows 8 or Windows 7 and iCloud for Windows (or iCloud Control Panel 3.1 or later)

Make sure that My Photo Stream is turned on for each device:

    • On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, tap Settings > iCloud > Photos.
    • On your Mac, turn on My Photo Stream in iPhoto or turn on My Photo Stream in Aperture.
    • On your Apple TV, select Settings > iCloud > iCloud Photo Settings.
    • On your PC, open iCloud for Windows (or iCloud Control Panel), click Photos or Photo Stream, then click the Options button.

Use the steps below to delete photos from My Photo Stream. You can also delete photos from shared albums.

On your Mac using iPhoto or Aperture

    1. Open iPhoto or Aperture.
    2. Click iCloud in the sidebar, then double-click My Photo Stream.
    3. Select a photo or group of photos.
    4. Press the Delete key.
    5. Click Delete.

I'm not sure what other files you are referring to.  Here is some general information about deleting documents from iCloud:

    iCloud: Remove documents from iCloud
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH12794

f you have devices set up for iCloud Documents & Data, you can remove your documents and other items stored in iCloud by deleting them from any of those devices. Removing your documents from iCloud reduces the amount of iCloud storage space you’re using.

If you have devices set up for iCloud Drive, see Remove files from iCloud Drive

If you use iMovie and want to remove movies and trailers stored in iCloud, see the iMovie Help topic about iMovie Theater on iPhoneiPad, or Mac

WARNING:    When you delete items that are stored in iCloud, they are removed from all your devices immediately and permanently.

Remove iCloud documents using your iOS device

    1. On an iOS device set up for iCloud Documents & Data, do one of the following:

      • With iOS 8: Go to Settings > iCloud > Storage, then tap Manage Storage.

      • With iOS 7: Go to Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup, then tap Manage Storage.

    2. Under Documents & Data, tap the app that has a document you want to delete, then tap Edit.

Remove iCloud documents using your Mac

If you want to save iCloud documents on your Mac while removing them from iCloud, you can simply move them to your Mac, provided it has OS X v10.8 or later. For instructions, go to the Finder on your Mac, then use the Help menu to search for “save documents.”

    1. Open iCloud preferences, then click Manage.

    2. Select an app on the left, then select one or more documents on the right.

    3. Click Delete (below the list of apps).
