Only an idiot would take this advice. If you attempt to open it yourself, you will forfeit all rights to ANY service or support for the device from Apple. Instead of a $109 screen replacement from Apple if you don't fix it completely, or if the screen IS defective, you'll have to buy a new phone at full retail price. But hey, if you have money to burn, go for it.

Mine has started calling people in the middle of the night too. Weird thing is, they aren't in my recent calls or in my call log at all. They call me to make sure I'm okay, but I have no record of ever having an outgoing call to them.

The two most likely culprits are a bad charging cable or a bad digitizer. If this is only happening while your phone is charging, try swapping out the cable. Weird though it may sound, a bad cable can cause the phone to do very odd things. If it happens even when not plugged in, you most likely have a bad digitizer. Take the phone in for service.

We have 4 iPhones in our family...3 iPhone 6 (2 are 64GB and one 16GB) and one iPhone 5.  All 3 iPhone 6 have the Zagg glass shields on them, different cases on each.  iPhone 5 seems to have no issues (no screen protector), however all 3 of the 6's do this, randomly type when trying to reply to a message, opening apps and pulling down the notification screen.  It has happened when we are charging them or when we aren't.  We use apple chargers that came with the phone for the most part.  Every once in awhile we have used a 3rd party charger.  It doesn't happen just when it is plugged in.  My husband and I had iPhones switched to Samsung and then back (issues we thought were the phone were actually Verizon).  I have always loved my iPhones and have had minimal trouble with them, but this issue and the fact that Apple doesn't seem to be responding is making me wish we had never came back to iPhones.  Also the closest Apple store to us is 130 miles, so just dropping by the Genius Bar isn't exactly feasible either. Does using a 3rd party charger once in awhile cause this issue and it cannot be fixed?  We have done resets, not complete restores, but the reset holding the power button and home button and it hasn't fixed it.

Have you contacted them? If you haven't they have no way of knowing you have a problem. This is a user-to-user forum. Apple doesn't participate here. If a store is too far away, contact Apple by phone.

Also, you mention that the phone without the screen protector is not having a problem. Remove the screen protectors from the others and see if that helps.

Just hesitant to remove 3 screen protectors that cost a decent amount of money when I have read others have taken theirs off and it has not corrected the issue.  Also the one without the screen protector is an iPhone 5, my husband and I both had them at one point and never had this type of an issue.

I Have same issue as everyone else. My iPhone 6 will open apps by itself. I have had it make calls, navigate mail folders and then delete emails and navigate various screens in safari.

i am on my 2nd phone for this issue. There are too many people having the same issue. Apple I'm sure is aware of issue but obviously doesn't know how to fix it. I suppose there is the possibility that there is some kind of a virus out there also. I spent a lot of money for this phone and expect for Apple to resolve this.

If you expect Apple to resolve it, then take it to your nearest Apple Store and have it checked. It's a failing/defective display.

An update to my situation, I decided to take the screen protector off of my phone only for now.  It still does the same thing.  Also it does it when plugged into apple chargers.  It seems like it is mostly when I have only one bar of LTE service (Verizon).  We will be calling Apple just thought this might help others having issues.

Yesterday night we bought for my wife Brand new Iphone 6s 64GB from a retail store. We used icloud to restore apps and various data from Iphone 5s. Today my wife has reported the phone is going crazy. Opening Youtube videos, replying to messages. As i was reading the previous comments i concluded that the cause could be:

    - Bad cable/charger

    - Screen protector

    - Icloud restore

    - hardware issue

    - We were using 5s cable to charge the iphone 6s. The crazy stuff was happening during charging so we will use the 6s cable now on and observe if it occurs again. I doubt that it is the cause, because usually when i charge my ipad for example with the wrong cable, the screen tends to improperly react to my finger touch and sometimes misclicks the screen, but it is strange that the phone started to open different youtube videos, and respond to message by copy pasting the message that was received. That's a strange behavior and never seen before.

    - Screen protector: We kept the screen protector that originally came with the box. The plan was to buy a proper screen protector in the near future and so we wanted to keep the one that came with it. Anyway, we will remove it and observe the phones behavior.

    - Icloud restore: We restored using icloud, but as some reported, the issue was ongoing even after complete reset. So for now we will not reset it until it is the last resort.

    - Hardware issue: Well i hope this is not the case otherwise we would be very disappointed. I mean if we are going to pay crazy money for a quality phone and then end up with hardware issue, then that makes me disappointed. I am not even sure how the retailer is going to handle the situation if we return to them with the phone. But i hope we will not get there.

mine  is doing the same thing. It barely types. It changes up to previous typed lines and randomly selects a spot between words to select where I am to keep typing. It opens Contacts as I type or an, assortment of apps, self posts messages after opening an app. It only sometimes allows me to use finger ID. My phone is only a few months old. It seemed a little "buggy" from the start in that it frequently had problems with the touch screen not working. I'd have to reboot my phone at least once a week. Sometimes several times a day. Since the latest update it's like my phone is haunted. i totally hate my phone. voice record is the only way to send messages and I only mean record my voice. Because voice to text doesn't work either.
