Not sure whether you mean to say that you want the Technicolor TG582n to be in Bridge Mode and AirPort Extreme act as the router.......or......whether you want the Technicolor to operate as the modem/router and have the AirPort Extreme operate in Bridge mode.
In other words, which device......Technicolor or AirPort.....will be in Bridge Mode?
thanks for reply Bob
technicolor will be as modem/router
airport to be in bridge mode
thanks again

Thanks for he clarification.
Is this a new "tower" shaped AirPort Extreme? Or, do you have an older "flat" or "square" shaped version of the AirPort Extreme?
Do you plan to try to set up the AirPort Extreme using a Mac, or an iPhone / iPad?
If you have a Mac, what operating system is it running? If you are not sure, click the Apple icon in the upper left corner of the screen, and then click About This Mac. Post back with the OS X Version number that you see there.
Finally, do you have an Ethernet cable long enough to locate the AirPort Extreme where you plan to install it? We ask this because the AirPort Extreme must remain connected to the Technicolor modem/router at all times using a wired Ethernet cable connection.
thanks mate
ok i will try to give you all info...
- yes its the new one just bought two weeks ago the "tower"
- yes i will try to set up using mac and i i have the macbook air OS X Yosemite version 10.10.1
- yes i have enough ethernet cable coz they will be near each other in one place
thanks

OK, thanks for the information.
I assume that you have not tried to set up the AirPort Extreme yet, so it still has new, factory default settings.
Connect an Ethernet cable from one of the LAN <--> Ethernet ports on the Thomson router to the WAN "O" port on the AirPort Extreme. Try to keep the Thomson and AirPort 6-7 feet, or a couple of meters away from each other to help minimize the chances of interference between them. More distance would be better if possible.
Power up the AirPort Extreme for a few minutes. The indicator light on the front will be slowly blinking amber about 30 seconds after you power it on.
On your Mac, click the AirPort icon at the top of the screen, and look for a setting of New AirPort Base Station.
Just below that, click on AirPort Extreme
That will start up the configuration utility. It will take a minute to analyze the network and then present a screen that looks similar to this:
For NetWork Name......type in a short, simple name that you want to use for your wireless network
Base Station Name.....type in a short, simple name that you want to call the AirPort Extreme. Mine is AExtreme for example.
Password......type in a password that you will use for both the wireless network and base station. Write that down
Verify......verify the password again
Click Next
The utility will set up everything for you. When you see the message of Setup Complete, click Done.
You should not be able to log onto the new network that you named and connect.
Thanks Bob working very good 🙂
Nice work! Good to hear.
Will this protocol also work with the Airport Express and Technicolor TC8305C?
Probably.
Lots of comments seem to indicate that I have to contact Comcast and have
them put the TC8305C router in bridge mode.

The setup that I provided and recommend does not require any special configuration for the Technicolor modem/router. See the info above in this post to confirm that it works well for the user who asked about this.
While it might be possible to configure the modem/router to act as simple bridge mode modem and then reconfigure the AirPort again as a router, this makes things a lot more complicated.
Unless there is some compelling reason (I cannot think of one) to completely reconfigure the modem/router and then change the settings again on the AirPort, I see no advantage to doing this.
Was there some special feature or function that you want the AirPort Express to perform on the network?
Only the ability to again have wireless printing in our home. The new
Technicolor TC8305C gateway does not have a USB port to plug in our printer
— and the printer does not have an ethernet port, which possibly could be
used; nowhere on its website does Comcast say anything about wireless
printing. If I can re-establish the Airport Express (with an ethernet
connection to the TC8305C) everything should be fine. But I have anxiety
about settings and compatibility and losing internet.

The setup that I provided is the simplest and most reliable that I know.
But, the USB port on the AirPort Express does not support all printers......and there is no known compatibility list.....so it is not possible to say whether a given product will work until you try.
Setting up the Technicolor as a modem in bridge mode will do nothing to help the USB port on the AirPort Express work any better.
Please understand the the USB port on the AirPort Express....if it is your plan to use this.....will only support the print function. If your printer is really an "All in One" type of device, only the print function will be supported. Scan, Copy, Maintenance and other advanced features will not be available when the printer is connected to the USB port of the Express.
If the focus or your questions is now shifting to printing from the AirPort Express, it would be best to start a new post for that subject, with an appropriate title.....to attract more views from the printer "experts" on the forum. They will not see your post here buried within another.
No - even though the functionality I want to restore is the printer, my
main issue is whether or not I need to ask Comcast to set the new TC8305C
to bridge mode before I try re-establishing the wi-fi network with the
Airport Express.
(If I can get wi-fi going again and plug the printer into the Airport
Express, I'm sure it will be fine.) But your procedure seems to be saying
that I only need to wire and plug in the Airport Express and that wi-fi
signal will override the one from the router in the TC8305C. Is that right?
Because that would certainly be easier than finding the right person from
Comcast to change this new device into bridge mode.

I think this will be the third time that I have said that you do not need to change the Technicolor modem/router to bridge mode if you want to connect an AirPort Express to the Technicolor and have it provide a separate wireless network signal that you can use.
The information earlier in this posts shows you how to do this, and a user who did it posted back to confirm that it works.
I'm not sure how much more than we can do here. Perhaps you want to wait for someone else to help you?
