Is there a way to prevent a settings reset or factory restore via Parental Controls for an Apple TV? If not, I hope there will be soon. Parental Controls go bye-bye if settings are wiped or the unit is restored.

TThis is a pretty significant issue that Apple needs to address. It is too easy for a child to access the reset function and blow away all the parental controls. To say nothing about the annoyance factor of having to rebuild all your system settings. I guess taking it away as an option, maybe I'll replace it with a Roku or another competitors device. Is that what Apple would prefer?
easy enough and I will take the $100 a month or so we spend on Apple entertainment and bring it somewhere else where their engineering teams have figured out how to actually implement security that canT be cracked by a 10 year old.
No that's not possible, however I'm not sure of the problem, once it's restored unless you've given the child your password to your account, they can't purchase anything.
My concern is that they can browse inappropriate content within some of the Channels.
If that's a real concern then check it occasionally. If it's been restored or reset in a way that lets them do that, take it away from them.
I guess that's possible, if it's an issue for you, make sure they cant connect by Ethernet.
If you can't trust your child, then take it away from them. If you choose to substitute technology for responsible parenting, that's your problem.
May I point out that by asking the question, they're demonstrating responsible parenting. Please leave the useless/unkind comments out.
