Thanks for the question. I understand that your iPad has been on the progress bar screen for some time after updating. The following resource provides information about this symptom. If the update or restore never completes or your device is unresponsive, you can reset it:

THanks very much for your reply. I waited around six hours in the end, nothing changed so I reset the iPad. Luckily they upgrade appeared to work..
