My iSight camera doesn't work on Chat

I have a Macbook Pro. My software is not recognizing the camera. I try to use it on Chat or Skype nothing works. My OS is OS X 10.9.5

Skype tells me I'm not on line when I know I am.

HElp!

Wonder if an SMC reset, may help the computer and the software, recognize the iSight?

Not sure what else to check, in regard to troubleshooting.

If camera isn't recognized in system profile for hardware

there may be a need to consider scheduling appointment

with some Authorized Apple service provider for testing.

In any event...

Good luck & happy computing! 🙂

Thanks for this K!

I followed the instructions for my macbook (pressing control, option, command and power at the same time) and when i turned it back on, everything was working normally with my camera! the light had been on since i did a security update the other day and trying to use photobooth/skype i realized the camera wouldn't work.

now it will!

cheers!
