Jan 11, 2015 2:33 AM in response to redgingeranneby Terence Devlin,This is the iPhoto for Mac forum. Photos on your iPad and the iPhoto for iOS are entirely different applications. You need to be asking this on an iPad forum.

That is not possible. Photos on the iPad does not support Faces. Photos is still very limited. You cannot add any titles or tags other than label a photo as "Favorite". See this link: Migrating from iPhoto for iOS to Photos on iOS 8 - Apple Support
You can sync your Faces albums from iPhoto on the Mac, if you disable iCloud Photo Library (Beta). Otherwise wait, if the Photos.app for he Mac will bring Faces back to iOS8.
It will help to send feedback to Apple with feature requests for the interaction of Photos on Mac and iOS8. Use this form: Apple - iPhoto - Feedback

Jan 11, 2015 7:49 AM in response to redgingeranneby Lexiepex,You did NOT have iPhoto on your iPad; no such thing.
Maybe you are mistaken: when you connect the iPad to the Mac, iPhoto starts up and shows you the photos.

Jan 11, 2015 8:33 AM in response to Lexiepexby léonie,Lex, there has been iPhoto iOS for iPad, a magnicifent app - the best photo editor for the iPad we ever had (http://help.apple.com/iphoto/ipad/2.0/), but Apple did not provide an upgrade for iOS 8. So, sadly, anybody who upgraded the iPad from iOS 7 to iOS 8 is left in the lurch with just the Photos.app, that is not yet an adequate substitute. Photos supports neither brushed adjustments, nor can the photos be tagged with keywords or titles. There are no longer smart albums based on tags, the Journals can no longer be edited, photo books can no longer be ordered, we can no longer view the metadata of the photos.

Jan 11, 2015 8:36 AM in response to redgingeranneby léonie, there did not much being migrated from iPhoto iOS to Photos. This document explains what does migrate:
Migrating from iPhoto for iOS to Photos on iOS 8
iPhoto did not create Faces albums. The faces you had seen in iPhoto iOS have been synced from your Mac. To get them back, sync again with iTunes.

Jan 11, 2015 8:34 AM in response to léonieby Lexiepex,Thank for your explanation Léonie,
So effectively the iPad users should use Iphoto on the Mac or something like that in the cloud.
I never used photo apps on the iPad, but alwys handle everything on the mac (iPhoto but lately mainly Lightroom).
have a wonderful 2015,
Lex
