Confusion with Gmail SMTP servers in Mac Mail

Hi all,

I use Mac Mail on my iMac running OS X Yosemite 10.10.1.

I have multiple Gmail accounts configured on Mac Mail and all of them seem to use one common SMTP server for outgoing mail, however each of them have their own, separate IMAP server.

This one common SMTP server is in the name of one certain Gmail address 'A'.

This means that whenever I try to send mail from Gmail addresses 'B' or 'C', its sends from the Gmail SMTP server of 'A'. Consequently, I think that Mac Mail gets confused and then sends the email from Gmail address 'A', which I don't want because from certain reasons, some particular emails must be sent from Gmail address 'B' or 'C'.

Please help me in setting up individual SMTP servers for each address.

Go to the SMTP server list by selecting Edit SMTP Server List from the Outgoing Mail server popup menu in the Mail Preferences (select Accounts, then Account Information tab).

In the list, create a new smtp server entry by clicking the Add ( + ) button.

Use Gmail B (or whatever you want) as the description.

Server Name is smtp.gmail.com

Click on Advanced and configure it. My settings are:

Port 465 SSL

Authentication: Password

Then, enter your username (full Gmail address) and password for that account.

Back on the Account Information tab, select the appropriate server from the Outgoing Mail Server list and check the box to only use that server.

Open Mail preferences and Accounts. Select each account in the sidebar, make sure the SMTP server in the list is the correct one for that account and check the box to use only that server for that account. Make sure each server has the correct login and password for the account.

Also, under the Composing tab of preferences, set the sending account for new messages to Account of Selected Mailbox.
