How I get sms working in MacBook Pro?

sms did work well for a while in between MacBook pro, iPad and iPhone 5. Then suddenly stopped working? I have all latest updates. What can I do?

MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.1)

im not sure of this has been answered for you or not but for the sake oh others. i had the same issue. its normally a simple settings change after an update or change in iOS. one make sure SMS is on. in iPhone iMessage settings. make sure text message forwarding is on to your macbook. a code is required to active the device that will show up on the device you want active. after restoring my iPhone from a backup. i had to redo all this for some reason
