Q: iOS: movies and TV with audio only, with locked screen?
How can I get Movies and TV to work with locked screen mode in iOS?
In UK there are some audio narration options for TV and movies for blind and visually impaired (even when they go out to watch a movie), but not in US.
So... struggling with basic functionalities of iOS: how can I get Movies (hey, itʻs an Apple app so I should get it to work, right?) to play the movies Iʻve bought in iTunes in a way that the movie plays when the screen is locked?
When I try to do that, the movie pauses.
Other apps can work around this issue - e.g. TED Talks and iTunes U work just fine when a video is playing. Thatʻs much better, so I can e.g. sleep, or run, or just do anything like Iʻd have my movies-walkman in my pocked or lanyard or however itʻs desired.
When I lock the screen itʻs because I want or need only the audio; itʻs really inconvenient when you canʻt watch movies because the screen needs to be unlocked or level AND canʻt be touched accidentally.
With TV - and some movies - I can get RAI TV app from Italy to work well for me. It doesnʻt matter if the TV is hanging on iPhone with lanyard: Iʻve got my headphones on, and I get movies and TV that sound great (and Iʻm often able to enjoy the same movie much better with Italian audio only mode than if I had the Hollywood audio only). And as iTunes movie selection for me is limited by whatʻs available in US, I canʻt really get any new Italian movies either...
How do you get your movies and TV to work (and where do you live or what languages do you use)?
OS X & Server, iOS, VoiceOver
